Frequently Asked Questions

What organization does Club Koa belong to?

Club Koa belongs to the Southern California Volleyball Association (SCVA), which governs all club volleyball programs in the southern California region. Among other things, SCVA sets the tryout dates and the tournament schedules. You can find more info about SCVA on their website, www.scvavolleyball.org

Where does your club practice? How often are your practices?

Club Koa uses West Valley Christian Church and deToledo High School as our primary practice facilities. Both gyms are located in West Hills. Practices are twice a week, for 1.5-2 hours.

How often do you have tournaments? Where do the tournaments take place?

Tournaments begin in November and run until the end of May. Each team will play in about 10 tournaments. Tournaments take place on Saturdays or Sundays, and are often held in Orange County or San Bernardino. Our high school aged teams also travel to Las Vegas for 1-2 tournaments each season.

How many players do you place on each team?

We have found that having 10-12 players on each team is an ideal amount, as it leads to maximum reps in practices, while minimizing the amount of girls on the sidelines in matches.

How much does a season at Club Koa cost? What do your fees include?

The fees for the entire 8 month season range from $3200-3500, depending on the payment plan that is chosen. These fees includes all registration costs, insurance coverage, gym rentals for practices, coaches stipends, tournament registrations, and complete uniform package (2 jerseys, practice t-shirts, sweatpants, and Club Koa hoodie). The only item we do not cover in our fees is travel/lodging for out of state tournaments.
